Set the exact date you want the event to happen and have a realistic budget. Make a preliminary guest list; this way you know the size of your reception. Start looking for a place to host your party and see what type of decor suits the event best.
6-8 months before…
Start looking for a catering service or contact our Event Coordinators to begin communication with our partner caterers. Select a photographer/videographer of your liking. Start shopping around for cakes and other pastries. Enjoy making these decisions! This is supposed to be the fun part of the planning.
4-6 months before…
Finalize your guest list. Order the invitations or partner with a graphic designer to create digital invitations. Select what type of party favors you would like to give out. Have a shopping day (or a few) and buy all the necessary formal-wear you may need.
2 months before…
Time to mail out your invitations! In addition, contact the vendors you will be working with to confirm your orders and their prices.
1 month before…
If necessary, have a final fitting of your formal wear, take it to a tailor if need be. Sometimes situations come up and some adjustments may need to be made. Make a to-do list of miscellaneous items you may need for your party; it is just around the corner!
1 week before…
Polish up all the odds and ends that come up, and try to relax. Get a good night’s sleep, eat healthily, and drink plenty of water. You want your body to be ready to enjoy the night too.
The big day…
You might be anxious and a little nervous, but if you follow your party timeline there is not much to worry about. Try to enjoy the time before the event by pampering yourself. Give yourself enough time to get ready. Lastly, enjoy the day you made happen and have some fun.
